Gas plant

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I've collected a few seeds from my Dictamnus plant. These aren't recommended for newbie seed growers. Seeds are very fresh but these aren't exactly easy to germinate. They need a Cold(6 weeks)-Warm(6weeks)-Cold treatment. They could be planted out now and left oustside for the winter or you can use the refrigerator for the chilling period. Plants will take a couple of years to bloom from seed.

I can send 5 people a pack for 60¢ postage.

Ho Poppysue, I would love to have some. I've tried
to grow them before and from your growing tips maybe
they will germinate for me this time. I had purchased
some seeds before and they never germinated.

I think I'm ready. :-) You have mail.

K - that makes five. I've emailed everyone my address. I forgot I have a journal entry from the ones I planted... http://davesgarden.com/j/viewentry/135/ I did mine in paper towels in the fridge... and the cycle was Cold-warm-cold. [Forget what I said above!! I edited it just in case] I put them in the fridge first, wrapped in damp paper towel and sealed in a zip locked baggie.

If I remember right... the seeds started sprouting with only one chilling cycle but you may need to chill them 2 or even 3 times. The seedlings put out their first blooms this summer.
