My Brug Bed 8-9-03

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

Here is the latest photo of my brug bed. I don't think it looks too bad when the brugs are blooming. 3 of the 4 Whiskers trees bloomed, I hope the 4th one gets with it and does something. It has "Y-d", so I don't know what it is waiting on. It is probably over 7 feet tall. The voo-doo lilies are coming nice too.

Anna, your brug bed is so pretty. I bet you are really enjoying it while it is full of blooms. You have accomplished so much.

This is all right outside my bedroom window. The scent is just unbelieveable at night when I have the windows open. Spouse said it was "almost" too much when he came to bed. Hah! One can never have too much brug scent, can one??? LOL

Woodspirit, it is a "thunbergia" I think that is how you spell it. A viney plant with little flowers.

Ah yes, some people call it vining black-eyed Susan

Thanks, everyone, for all the nice comments on my first attempt at a brug bed. I'll keep you posted, will have to take another pic when they're blooming again (hope I have another flush before frost!) I've had a couple people stop and look, wish there would be a few more.)

I have to tell you all a funny story about thunbergia. I mentioned to a male friend of mine (& my husband's) that if I could buy a steel bra, I would. Well, when my birthday rolled around, he gave me a thunbergia with a card that read: "I would have bought you a bra but the blacksmith couldn't get it ready on time."

Very Beautiful Anna. They make lovely gardens when grouped together.
