reading violabird's post about naming her new puppy, inspired me to ask you, how you named your pet.
i have a 9 year old pekingese. he came to live with as a puppy 8 weeks young. we brought him home not knowing what his name would be.
well my dh said "whatever you want honey." so i had names running through my head when i decided to ask him what he wanted for a name. he was playing on the floor with our daughter and boyfriend (at the time). i was sitting in a chair, across the room. i started saying names outloud with a pause between of course. well when i said franklin, his little head whipped around and he looked right at me. :) he had chosen his name and answered to it from that moment on. well except when he gets that "selective hearing" thing. :)
so, how did you name your pet? or did he/she name themselves too?
