Hello folks,
It's been a while since I checked in. It's been a long month.
We sold most of our cows a few weeks ago. It was one of those kind of days when you know you need to do this, but you really don't want to. It was like seeing old friends go.
On top of everything, when DH was making a loop around the yard to back up the horse trailer to the barn, Shiloh ran under the pickup. It was all over in 10 minutes. I saw it happen, but there was nothing I could have done. DH didn't even see him. A couple of neighbors and I were discussing who was going to put the poor dog out of his misery because DH felt so bad about it, but he died on his own. I don't think there was any way he would have lived because both front and back tires ran over him. Poor dog had just been to the vet the week before to get all his shots and to be neutered. Even Bubba misses him. He walked around looking for him for about two days. It's just too quiet around here. DH won't even discuss getting another dog yet. It's going to take him a while to get over this.
Anyhow, I'm back at work because school starts in a week and a half. I went for three days of computer training a few weeks ago and came home with my brain fried. LOL Then I had to teach the other secretaries to run it. After typing up nine pages of notes for them, they should be able to reference to whatever they are looking for. I hate being taught something and not get a manual. (The programmer said it was going to change too much for a manual to do any good.) Hope they don't change things too fast. I could never be a teacher. I can't imaging teaching a bunch of kids rather than the 5 adults I had. That was stressful enough.
My garden is pretty much done for. Nobody watered when I was gone, and whatever else was left, the grasshoppers had lunch on. The only thing left is the tomatoes. Hope I get at least a few.
Sounds like everyone is really busy. Mary, hope you enjoy your greenhouse. KJo, you helped bring back memories of the fair when the kids were in 4-H. I miss that too.
Hope everyone is well and happy. To take a phrase from MaryE, count your blessings.
Ruth
