can buy forcing containers from like park seed company for hyacinths and crocus to force in side. also can use the wet gel stuff to put the bulbs in. just put the very bottom of bulb in wetness. keep in warm spot. i always use the forcing jars from parks. have never tried to do actual dirt to force bulbs in side but dont see why not if kept in a warm enough spot or in portable green house like from parks. then can bring out of it when blooming. check out what they offer . maybe others have some more ideas. imzadi

roof.... one of the easiest bulbs to grow indoors is amaryllis. I have several, kept in a dark closet in the cool basement during the fall and winter. I bring them out one by one in 2-3 week intervals, starting Nov. 1st, and start watering lightly. Usually I have blooms by Christmas, lasting until nearly Easter. After the garden has warmed in late spring, I put my amaryllis out in the garden, and bring them in by the middle of August so they have at least 10 weeks of dormancy.

roof - i tried this with hyacinths and it worked out pretty good. in the middle of oct. i put the bulbs in the frig. for six weeks. after the six weeks i took them out and put 2 or 3 bulbs in containers that were at least 6 inches deep. i put a little growing medium at the botton then the bulbs and covered them with more growing medium. placed them next to a heat source and when they started to pop up i put them under grow lights untill they bloomed. i had never worked with bulbs before and was surprised it worked the way it did. good luck
