Wow, that is a beauty of a bloom. Hope you have bunches more of them coming on. I found last year that the red passifloras all wanted to bloom just about at frost time here. I didn't get to see blooms.....made me sick. They were such nice vines and just loaded with buds.

What a great red passiflora! My sister had a deeper red one and I thought that was spectatular, but this one takes my breath away! Thanks for posting the pic.

Dear Poppysue,
I just got a pura vida red in the mail. Is yours in the ground? How old is it?

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

It's in a gallon container, Flicker. I just got it this spring from Logees. It has lots more buds coming.

poppysue, Glad you got to see your red bloom and take a picture of it. I too got pura vida red from Logees this spring. Mine is in a 12" pot as I know it wouldn't be hardy here so I will have to take it inside for the winter. It is a beautiful red passion vine, but mine is not happy with the very hot weather we have had. I had it on the deck in full sun, but today i moved it to a different location where it will be in the shade from noon on. Hope it does better, did bloom earlier but don't see any buds on it now.
