That is really a beautiful plant. I just love them and have kept one for many years. The one in the photo is about 8 years old and I got it when it only had 2 horns....So it has grown alot. Do you do anything special to yours??

It's not my plant, but I can tell you it gets waterer just about every day and fertilized in the summer about monthly.. it also sees lows of 40 only.

Great plant! Has anyone heard of adding an old banana, peel and all,I was told by a friend that they really love the potassium???

Nope haven't heard that...how does it work....do you grind up the banana peel or just lay it on the fern...don't know where I would put one on mine it is pretty full.

The friend has her staghorn mounted on the front of a 'moo box', its a plywood box frame with screen mat'l around it. She puts the whole banana in the dirt on top of the box. Next time I visit I'll take a pic, her fern is huge and swears by this but we are afraid to try it.

lol,I wonder if just using the whole banana would work better?..seems like they would break down fast in summer.
