The "Dry River" walkway is done

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

We finally added the gravel to the walkway and the pond garden is starting to fill in nicely. I even have clear water again and the fish are looking happy.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Thankyou. This is the right half of my wee yard. I still have a lot of work to do on the other half but in 4 months this is as far as we have gotten due to time and money shortages :~) But as the plants mature it will start to look more and more like a garden retreat instead of an apartment no mans land. I started on this side because it is viewed from the livingroom and dining area. The gravel pathway allows me to cross to the pond without worrying about muddy feet or paths worn into the grass.

Zany: Lookin good. I esp. like the his and hers hats hang on the fence. It's nice that you can look out a window onto the pond.

zanymuse, what a pretty spot, the gravel path is great. I especially like the pot hanging on the fence, and the hats. It is a lovely spot. Donna

Looks great!

I love it Zany!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

That looks really nice Zany! All you work is paying off! What kinds of plants do you still need for the other side? It will be cold here before I know it and some of my plants will have to find new warmer homes.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks everyone! I am pleased as punch with the way it is starting to look and just had to show it off a little!

Badseed, the other side is Sunnier so I want to put in a trellis with a climbing rose and a clematis, iris, Cannas, geraniums and something with purple leaves and chartruce leaves for contrast.....not sure what yet! Almost anything that will take more sun and not be too invasive in this small space that I can find that will not be too costly for my budget.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Sweet!!!Very nice job!I can hear the brook babbling in my mind!Well there is something babbling in my head!LOL!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I think I can send that! LOL Seriously, I can send you some iris, canna soon, etc. Do sweet potato vines do well there? That could take care of your chartreuse and purple both. I won't store everything I have for the winter, so I'd be happy to send them on to a warmer home. :)

Dearborn, MI(Zone 5b)

How pretty! It looks wonderfully natural.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Root, that babbling sound is just me a runnin of at the mouth as usual! LOL

Badseed, I would love to get a package of plants from you. I have newer tried a Sweet potato vine but it would be fun to try! Let me know how much postage to send when you are ready!

kneff, thanks for the compliment. It is hard to go wrong using native rocks ;~)
