2:51 a.m. -- are you kidding??? Will this happen to me when mine start blooming?

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Kell you really have that black background down pat. Looks great.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I go out after midnight Barb. I love it then so quiet. My cat comes with me and we go around the yard.

Though some kind of loud bird (we hope it is a bird) has moved into a tall palm by my house. As soon as it gets dark it starts this horrible noise. we can't figure out what it is. When I am outside now, by its sounds, I feel it is going to come down the street at me. I am forever looking over my shoulder for a huge thing to come at me.

This is Rosamond.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks. Will be watching for the next pic.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, I read a book about alien invaders who disguise themselves as birds and come down after midnight to snatch people! You should be careful out there.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

and I read they are attracted to brugs, they creep up on unsuspecting gardeners at night *they are nocturnal ya know* and squirt brug juice in their victims eyes.--then they abduct them to their green house and try to clone their fingers and toes. lol cheryl

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Sounds like you better stay in the house at night.....hey, that would leave time for some of you who can travel, to grab a pair of clippers and take the tour of Kell's garden after dark. Bet it will be another beautiful bloom Kell.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey, if that bird can lift me, god bless him! LOL

You guys are so bad.

I wish I could let you all hear the noise it makes. It doesnot sound like a bird but a strange grunting that is so loud and at times it gets frantic. I have really been thinking of calling the police and see if they can figure it out.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Oh to funny Kell. Sure its not a frog of some sort?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

The noises you are hearing sound like an obscene caller, maybe "BIG FOOT"!!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Gloria, calling to me from the top of a palm tree!

A huge croaking palm tree frog!

How close are you to your neighbors bedroom window?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You are so bad Root! LOL

It must be a big bird (and no it is not yellow) because it sounds like squawking almost. Donna. you are a bird person. What could it be?

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

I would think it's a frog too. There are some at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens that don't even croak they are so big. They make this awesome *wwwwwwwomp* noise over and over. It's SO loud.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We have frogs here that make odd sounds. They sound huge and are really pretty small.
I did like the alien theory best though!

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

These were huge and warty. lol :)

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

*had another visual of Kell fighting off alien frogclowns with a weed eater and a flashlight....*

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Now I'm laughing so hard I spilled my drink! She would probably blind them with the flash on her camera trying to get a picture for the ID forum.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Y'all are just plain crazy!!! I love it.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Got to love the humor. It is so good to be able to laugh at the end of a long day.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Do you have tree frogs in your area? That is what it sounds like to me....but watch out.....they can jump on you and they feel slimy!! They generally start talking a lot after dark and they are drawn to light.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Kell could it be squirrels? i observed when i visit my son in Menlo Park, the squirrels do fly/jump from one tree to the other. such an ugly sight, almost like seeing rats walking thru the electric cables. the squirrels do make such odd weird noise too.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

you know those monkeys in the wizard of ozz?----theyre pretty scary too, and they sorta made grunting noises? guess your gonna have to get steve erwin out in your garden to find out?

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Don't scare her too bad, we want to keep seeing the midnight photos, they are great.

Spring Hill, FL(Zone 9a)

Why not just snap a picture of the THING and post it for IDing? Try to get a closeup lol
