Color Printer Cartridge Woes

HP Deskjet 842c. Got a color cartridge from Supermediastore.com (& HP Laserjet toner which is fine) in Dec. I did not check it properly, and recently replaced the black cartridge (from 4inkjets.com) and THEN was doing the test pages, etc. I realize that the color cartridge does not have any cyan - the blue green - color at all. It is now too late to do anything.

Now I get a replacement color cartridge from printpal and it seems to work okay, but I keep getting the message "Color Print Cartrdge Incorrectly Installed, Remove the color print cartridge and reinstall it".

Any ideas/help out there?
