I just read an article about using Silo Cap for pond liners! here's the link. :). http://www.littlecountryvillage.com/pond.html
CHEAP Pond Liners!
It never ceases to amaze me at how inexpensively you can find things if you really look!
I don't think that I would use that for a koi pond or lotus bog because it's so thin and I wouldn't want to take any chances. But I would be willing to try it for a lily pond or a small fountain pool or even a dirt bog.
thanks crimson, interesting, I wouldn't use it, to thin. But If its temporary not a bad solution, be good for breeding koi.
~~~~ for that price you could double or triple the layers, hehe.............and it is still cheaper than a pond liner.
lol Im cheaper then cheap---I used an old swimming pool liner and covered the bottom with peagravel and the sides with fieldstone---and if my dumb dog happens to uncover the liner a little above the edge of the water, I take some flat black spray paint and some cardboard to protect the water and touch it up. I even rustled up most of my plants and what I couldnt hijack from here there n yonder, I bought on clearance.lol--my fish were once lowly feeds even. The fieldstone came from a house that was being torn down and was reincarnated into beds and pond.
Awesome Plays, :>....the best pond is the free pond. :)).
Rubber roofing liner is what all my ponds are made out of. It's 45 mil epdm and it's also sold as pond liner for a much higher price. It works great. Of course, some people will argue till they are blue in the face that it's not fish safe, that it has chemicals on it, etc. My fish and plants are doing just fine living in roofing liner. I have never read an article that says that that it killed someones fish or plants. It sells for 30 cents a square foot.
5000+ gallons, I'm a believer, lol.
