If You Bought a New Digital Camera, Which One Would It Be???

We need a new digital camera that has more memory, allows one to take close-up shots of minute details, very easy to download photos from the camera to your computer/or disk and doesn't cost a lot of $$$$ (around $500 or less). I would appreciate your ideas and suggestions. Also, please include a few thoughts on why you selected this certain camera.
