New to brugs

Sweetwater, TN(Zone 7b)

Hi everyone, I'm new to this plant. First time I saw one was last summer when I visited Dave's Garden. I knew then that I had to give it a try. Well looks like I'm hooked. I would like to know where to learn more about the different varieties. This is my first one to bloom. Lovely and smells wonderful!!!!!!!!!! Jacki

This forum is a good place to start. Then there is brugmanisas.com which you can reach from a link at the top of the opening page of this forum. There are a couple of brugmansia organizations out there, one is here
http://www.americanbrugmansia-daturasociety.org/
They have lots of information about everything from starting seeds to overwintering your plants. More info is being added daily.

Welcome Wickerjac. Be careful looking at the galleries at that site Cala showed you. You will be in a state of perpetual lust! LOL.

Looks like you are off to a great start with your prety plant. Glad you are here.

Susie,
sorry for my words: Why do you write here and send a link for abbads?
Either I am happy with Davers or not.

Just wondering.

Regards

Ludger
( Why do you donīt write at the linked site? )
I donīt see a reason to set a abbadslink here.

Does this site be so bad that we will need an other site???

I donīt believe it.

Happy Daving

Thanks everyone, I have been reading alot of the forums, You guys seem to have a lot of fun. Thanks for letting me be part of it.

Ludger, maybe you should be asking yourself the same question you asked Susie. The question is: Do you think Dave's is so bad that you have to be a member of BGI or other groups that you may belong to??

Dave's is my favorite place and most everyone feels that way. There are brug organizations on the internet and everyone has a right to belong to anyone of them or all of them.

It appears to me that you think there is competition between Daves, BGI and ABADS and I don't see it that way at all. I feel that when a new member asks for information and where they can find it at other sites, it is only right to give them all the information that is available. If we don't then we are controlling their information and I would find that questionable and possibly not very ethical.

If you read the post again, you will see the person was given all the information of sites available for additional information regarding brugmansias.

Please try to be careful about saying things that could offend others. Most of us have alot of fun here and share pictures and useful information and we also laugh here. Most of us try to be as helpful as we can and I think that is a good thing.

Edited because while my daughter was at my house visiting today she got on DG's to read and post. When she exited DG's she did not change back to my ID and menue.

The comments above were written by BrugNanny and not BNDDL and I take full responsibility for them.
