Hi Maryan, I've just collected these. Hollyhock makes lots of flowers around the stem while growing taller (200 cm or more)..so it has set seeds that are ready to collect while it is still blooming further in the top. You like to have some ?

Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Yes!! Please!! I've always wanted Hollyhocks and ordered some a few years ago, but, to my knowledge, none have grown. Can you send me pics of the Pods?

Thanks,
Maryan

Horn, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

Hi Maryan, Sure..please mail me private for your addy..The seeds are easy to collect..you cannot overlook them. On http://plantsdatabase.com/go/7/ you'll find a nice pic Poppysue made from the seedpods. Have just collected some seeds of Campanula thyrsoides..soooo difficult..they are like dust..Hollyhocks can grow in your zone 5..just put them in the ground on the spot you like to grow them. They'll bloom second year so if they sprout this year before winterdormancy comes, there's a big chance they'll bloom early summer 2004 and come back then every year. These are figleafed..fingerleafed..hollyhocks..and have little bigger flowers and are more rustresistant.. I hope this info is enough for you.
