Wow, this is pretty, does it make seed? I have Maltese Cross Lychnis and the Rose Campion, so this is a new lychnis to me.
Its gorgeous!
Yes, Lenjo. It puts out quite a bit of seed. We collected some last year, and I started it indoors this spring. This plant is at a friend's garden and it wintered over well for her in our Zone 3 climate. The foliage is a bronzish green and the flowers flame red, so it's quite a beauty. Hope to have some seeds for trade this fall.
I hope I have something you are looking for?
I'm sure you will, and if not, you know you are still welcome to seeds.
:) Thanks so much, I will have lupine and asceplias, pinwheel zinnias, xeranthemum, bachelor buttons. I just love the anchusa from you.
I'm so glad the anchusa worked out. I've tried it from seed a couple times, but it seems to winter kill here... maybe too wet. The seed should be maturing later this month, and I'll get some from my friend. She has lots of sun, so the plants mature sooner and produce lots of good seed.
