Does this look like a sport to you?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

See how it stands out from the rest of the leaves?

YEAH KELL!!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Wow! Pretty!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It sure is much lighter in color. Grab that spaghnum and a plastic bag and start air layering........LOL. It would be a beautiful plant if you can get it rooted and if it would stay this way.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

looks like a natural Snowbank. very pretty

My next question is, on a sport are the flowers ever different than the plant it sported from? thanks

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Didn't Kristi get a different color bloom on her green sport from her Maya plant? Maybe I was having a dream.

It looks good. Maya often has such sports during the hot summertime. It mostly go back to normal variegation after some weeks. Here the flowers look like the origin.

Actually Ludger it is a branch from Variegata Suaveolens. That is why I was hoping for a different flower. LOL. Its flower is a small white.

I can't tell if my Maya is a sport. I was trying to compare it to the sport Monika showed last week. http://davesgarden.com/t/390678/

And to me my Maya looked like her sport. Though I may have been missing something. Mine has 4 different colors on 1 leaf.

This is why we name them: Variegated.

I will try to take pictures from my variegated( next week)
Hopefully you will understand more after watching
all the different branches.

After looking at my Maya leaf (my last picture posted above) and comparing it to Ludger's picture of his Maya (above). Maybe mine is unusual. Does anyone else's Maya leaves look like mine? I have the white but I also have 3 shades of green on each leaf.

Remember Brugie this is the one I bought as P & C and then we decided it must be Maya?

Kell, nothing unusual at your Maya. As I have told you, it is normal in summer.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Kell, your photo of the single leaf is just lovely. I hope you can get an airlayered root. Maybe it will stay and not revert. Donna

Guess I better go look at mine Kell. I don't have time to inspect them like I have in the past. Doing good to get them watered this year.

I have a sport on Maya that has never reverted, it's two years old.
Mums sport, they can have totally different leaves and different colored flowers, sometimes they revert back. It depends on how stable the sport is. Hostas sport and revert back all the time, some are more stable than others.
When a new sport is discovered on a plant it's usually separated out and then one sees if they can stabalize it, or if it goes back to normal.

Kell,I hope it stays like that and never reverts!

Best Wishes!!!
