Eyes, can't get their site to open, even by putting in Fuchsiamagic.com or going to the American Fuchsia society link. Maybe their site is down for repairs.

Don't know how you could hold it down to $15. I sure can't.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

ahhhh...but they were seeds on sale...if it were plants, which I DID NOT LOOK AT,it would have been sssssoooooo much more....lol

Valrico, FL(Zone 9b)

To answer the original question, they are gorgeous, but definatley not tropical. The most heat tolerant generaly can't do well above 85, with most preferring a max heat of 75 or so.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

75 is tropical to me!!!!!!!

anything not frost or freeze hardy is a tropical in my book!

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9b)

How will these do in zone 9. was hoping heat tolerant meant heat tolerant LOL. love those beauties

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Well, Think about it. I'm sure it would be Okay...Eh..
Tell me if you change your mind...:)

Tucson, AZ(Zone 9b)

The temps avg. high 90's to low 100's my girlfriend really would like to get fuchias but will they tolerate the heat.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

What I've been reading on the Heat Tolerant Fuchsia is that they will tolerate heat to the low to mid 90's. After that they have to be protected by partial or filtered shade.

Thank you eyes, that will make my girlfriend very happy. She loves fairies and fuchsias will be the perfect touch.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Okay, I've emailed Delta Farms about doing a Co-Op for the Heat Tolerant Cultivars.........will let y'all know.

My friend Ruby bought a true heat tolerant fuchsia in Mississippi(that's where she lives) and has had it for three years. It blooms all summer for her. She gave me a piece and I shared it with a few others. It is the typical fuchsia and purple color.
The hot humid summers usually kill all my large bloomed fuchsias before summer is half over but hasn't even slowed this one down. This is my original plants second year, got to be a record for me and fuchsias!
I did have good luck with Gartenmeister, Mary and First Love. They have smaller flowers and are upright, but they did good all summer and do come back from freezing weather here.
Here is a link to fuchsia info from Clemson University http://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheets/HGIC1557.htm

Looks like we got a real good shot at getting a Co-Op from the farm. They're leaving for 6 weeks, August 13, and she is supposed to be sending me a list and cutoff date anytime now. When I hear ........will post in the Co_Op Forum.
