What do I do with the new baby?

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

I am one of the latest victims of brugmania. ((Thanks Shirley)) My babies are fine and getting new leaves. Query: do I let the leaves set on where they have obviously been removed from the trunk or do I let them develop? Thanks.

I am very sorry,

I donīt understand your question..:-)

Do you mean leaves or shoots?

Hopefully anyone with better english will come in..:-)

It's up to you, I have some leaves growing all the way up the main large trunk(stem). Some I keep off to make them trees. Anything big enough can be taken off and rooted for more, if you want.

Leave the leaves on for now. Those are small babies yet. They need the leaves to bring the energy into the plant. When they get tall, you can remove leaves below the Y only.

I remove leaves for shipping purposes. It doesn't wilt the plant as easily if there isn't too much growth needing moisture while in transit.

Thanks. On they stay. They seem happy Brugie. They are bigger already. My epidendrums are going to get huge at this rate though. They are getting fed evvery day too because the babies are kiving among them. I hope they don't die of the shock.
