Collected seeds from Asphodeline lutea. The grassy leaves are wintergreen in my zone 8b. They also make nice seedpods like little balls. The seeds are now ready to send. I've uploaded some images for you to get an impression.

She is pretty -- I have never heard of this plant before, do you think it is hardy in zone 6a?
Alyssum..don't know for sure but probably it will. In our Plantsdatabase one mentioned zone 6a to survive for her. We had a cold winter overhere with heavy frosts down to - 20 C and she has survived without a problem. Blooming better than the year before. It's a mediterreaen plant though. She is one of my favourits in my garden. Have sown her myself. Very easy to sow.

Hi Bitty...yes it's King's spear..it's one of my favourits in my garden..you like to have some seeds of it ? I don't have sea kale..saw lots of them on the seacoasts in Denmark. In the Netherlands it's very protected now and very very rarely seen. It's pitty that I don't have seeds of it.
I know you are interested in history and ancient use of plants. This is what I've looked up about her:
"..The asphodel (or king’s spear) of the ancients, sacred to Persephone and associated with the fields of the dead, was Asphodeline lutea..;..Yellow Asphodels were supposed to grow in the mythological Elysian fields where heroes enjoyed new life after death.." (The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001)
Still keep your nice card with santa on horseback!
