Tri-Colored Sage

It's a reliable and hardy variety in my growing area.

That looks so beautiful and healthy. I used to grow the different varieties, I am down to just growing the plain green sage and a large part of it is still drying up and gradually dying off. Wonder what is the matter with it. It rarely winters over.

I had several plants of the tri-colored. Gradually over 2 years they lost part of their plant, then finally all died. I haven't tried the plain jane sage in this garden.

My tri-colored sage has been growing in the same location for the past several years. It grows in a S.E. exposure and all I do is water, when we don't have rain for a long period of time. It is well mulched in the Spring. Beside the above mentioned, it thrives on neglect!

I also grow the plain green sage to add to certain culinary dishes. Those are the only two sages I have.
