ID Please?

This is my original mother plant (OMP) and when purchased as a cutting it was marked only as "Orange angel trumpet". Does anyone care to take a guess as to which Brug this might be?

Her scent is very different from my other brugs - - hard to describe, except I would call it a spicy scent.

Here's a better picture showing the different shades - - from pale yellow to deep orange.

It looks like a Grimaldi or Dr. Seuss. Did you get it at Stanley's GH?

Knoxville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, that where I got the cutting.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Cala, you can even pick the source out now?

It sure looks like a happy plant, Nathalyn. I just love it.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Well I saw the huge one at Stanleys(I love to go there, they have neat stuff). I think they just called it "orange brugmansia". Looked like Charles Grimaldi when I saw it blooming last year.

Kell, Believe it or not: but two weeks ago, a bad storm stripped most of her leaves off (left her blooms though, thank goodness). I am amazed at how quickly she recovered.

And yes, Cala is very amazing herself!

On another note Kell: I think Pink Frostyitis has spread to Knoxville. ALL my pink brugs looks like pink frosties!
Even my hubby said with great disgust "These are all beautiful but why did you plant so many of the same kind".
LOL Nat

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

OH NO!!! The curse of the Frosties! LOL. Sunday I actually moved a few pots of Frosties by the road hoping they would get stollen. I donot have the heart to off them to death but I sure am done with having them all over.

Nice brug, Nat, whatever the name.

I have a 'Frosty Pink' from Calalily. Does that mean that whatever my other two are, they will be influenced by 'Frosty'?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It is just terrible Darius. You start out with a hot pink and then it turns to a Frosty. Make sure you keep at least 20 feet between Frosty and all your other pinks or suffer my Frosty fate.

I don't know Kell - - - 20 feet may not be enough.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

This maybe true Nathalyn.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Wish I lived closer to ya, Kell, cause I would steal as many of them as I could. LOL

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Nat, it's just plain old unfair that you have a completely unblemished Brug, whatever the name! Can I send some of my Brug bugs to you?
My leaves look more like swiss cheese )o:

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Looks like Dr Suess..Cgrimaldi doesn't have the very serrated leves of this one.C G flowers hang almost straight down also Dr Suess angles more

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

It is beautiful regardless of what it is. I think I need to make a trip to TN and hoist it so you won't have to worry about the ID.

Vi - I have plenty of bugs, thank you. This particular brug doesn't seem to attact bugs and slugs like my other brugs do. It must be the location???

Lani - - you will need an BIG truck if you want to hijack this one. It's already about 8 ft by 5 ft, and we have it bungee corded to the porch to keep it from flopping over.
Would you settle for a cutting?

Eclipse - - I know that Dr. Seuss and CG are very similar. Thanks for the info. I am quite happy to know that it is either Dr. Seuss or CG. Nat

My Dr Seuss (less than 4') has 10 buds, the largest about the size of my little finger. I am WAITING, WAITING for a bloom. How exciting that it may be as beautiful as this.

I have a digital photo of the bud. Where do I find the instructions for posting a photo?

Linda

Hi Linda. I do not know if there are directions but go below the posting window YOUR MESSAGE to the IMAGE Browse window. Click on BROWSE. It well take you to your hard drive. find the folder you have your picture in and just click on it. LOL. At least that is how it works for me! Good luck. We would love to see your pic.

First try at posting a photo. Dr. Seuss bud, I think the red flair happened when the camera door popped open.

hmmmm I think I need to head East with my one ton diesel truck and my horse trailer! Pick up plants from DG people along the way and hijack this brug from Nat. I could also stop at Cala's and help her with moving her plants. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Go for it Ponditis. Rumor has it Cala if you help move some of Calas plants to their new house she will put you in brug heaven!

Linda, great picture. Good job. Your little bud is so cute.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I didn't say I would move them to Cala's new house, I just said I could help her move them. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well you won't get to brug heaven that way Ponditis! LOL

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I thought brug heaven was having big brugs in your own yard! LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Ponditis, if you help move Susie's brugs believe me you WILL have brug heaven in your own yard!!!!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)
