Welcome...Bigsky Ent....to Daves Garden...
Welcome to DG. DH and I grew up in Montana. I was a transplant and he a native.
Hope you surf around here and become part of the family here.
Thank You so much for the warm welcome! You are so right ...this is the Best Garden Site on the web. My wife and I will surely enjoy the wonderful people and the wealth of information! I will never forget what attracted me to DG.
It was that "Korean Ginseng" and the Beautiful Pictures at DG that Hooked me. My wife and I are Grateful to Diana for helping us out! What a Life Saver!
To share a thought for the day...
Lately I've been involved in some personal charity work and while I was standing in line at the Post Office today, this thought ran through my mind, "There are two distinctly different kinds of people in the world. #1 people that say look at what I have! & #2 people that say look what I have for you!" I chose to help out a homeless person, standing at the door, as I walked out of the Post Office. He became very happy, very suddenly! I thought to myself, well you never know when it might be you standing in those shoes someday.
It will be fun to meet some New Friends.
Take Care & Have a Great Day Everyone!
Steve & Daphne.............
Thank You for the warm welcome Ponditis!
My wife is from San Francisco where we are living now and we married 1 year before I left the military. That was in 1992. I have reached a decision that we need to get as far away from S.F. as possible. Moving back to Montana will be a True Blessing. I think that the Double and Triple Taxes that they have here in Cal. are some of the Magnetic Forces that are keeping us from leaving this state at the present. But, we'll never give up! It might just take a little longer. I want my wife to see what Real Living is all about someday soon! Wish You the Best! Steve!
A warm South Louisiana welcome to you both! I hope you enjoy this place as much as I have. Lots of good people, here.
You reap what you sow, and you seem the type to sow generously .. you should fit right in here at DG.

Steve, From the introduction I thought you were moving to Montana quite soon. Sorry if I didn't read it right. I don't understand what you mean by the double and triple taxes that are keeping you in CA but I know that Montana is a really different climate from SF. I love the snow in winter but many don't. I don't mind driving on ice but others do or can't. I don't mind my plants dying out in the winter as it gives me a few months of rest before the next onslaught but others do.
However, I would love to live near SF for a while to have a good garden that grows almost year round. That must be nice. When I lived in a similar climate I didn't have the finances to do a garden at all.
Take care of yourself and keep on giving to those that are less fortunate than yourselves. You will fit right in here, I am sure. Lani
BigSkyEnt, Welcome to the garden from SW Washington state. You will just love it here among all the wonderful gardeners. Montana has always appealed to me.
