Kyle: What is going on here with the imperial elephant ear. What do I do with the runner type things with plants attached and I think she went and bloomed, are those seedpods, their are two of them. I missed seeing the blooms. She is growing great.

Some of mine are doing this too Debby! I'm glad you posted. I was going to get a pic as well. Mine came up looking like a leaf tip then just kind of went across the top of the dirt. Now I am noticing a little joint with roots. Weird, maybe normal?

Waiting for the Boss to tell us,but I must say,I have never seen Alos', Colos' bloom like they did this year, what is it?

Root: And can you believe I missed them blooming. I had this one where I couldn't see the pot. Moved the pot the other day and noticed what was going on.

Badseed: At the end of the runner, leaves are coming out and hanging over the pot. Their is one that put roots down in the soil and has leaves on it. Evidently this is a means of throwing off new plants. I need to know if you cut a piece off, if it would root away from the mother plant.

I put the plants in very large tubs in the pool so the runners..stay inside the pot and root into the soil to make a large clump. In a smaller pot like yours you can snip off the runners..leaving about 4 inches of stem and pot them up for giveaways. And yes it did bloom..but seeds aren't likely most times..cut the spent flowers off to save energy for the main plant.

Eclipse: Thanks. Was wondering if I could do that. Next year I will plant it in a big pot. I will cut off the spent blooms. Maybe next time it blooms, I will get to see it.
