How do you grow them, I live in zone 8 near Charleston S.C.

Tokyo, Japan

Absolute dry rest in the winter between 5 and 10C. (I keep mine indoors in the hallway closet.) Plenty of water once the leaves emerge in late April/early May. Well drained soil, and occaisional feedings with a balanced bulb food.

Good luck!

You are quite the photographer! I like, I like

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Lophophora - what are you using for your black backdrop? Is that just black paper? Do you get it in a roll? Looks nice on your shots.

Tokyo, Japan

Hi Kim!

Yup - standard roll of black studio matte, 150x270cm, held up on the wall with duct tape. Available at finer photography supply stores near you... ;)

One word of caution: being a cheapo, I opted for this rather than the fabric alternative at four times the cost. But garden pots often leave dirt stains that can't be removed from the paper, so one of these days I'm gonna hafta spring for the fabric anyway :(

Tell ya what - I'll trade you this roll for your camera...

;)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Ah, heh, uh, yeah sure. Even trade. I guess that's about as likely to happen as the Jaguar sports car I'd like for SASE.

Thanks for the info, though!
