Oh Kristi! That is beautiful!! I think my pink bit the dust. A couple rotted and I moved the last one. It is still firm, but no sign of life. My yellow on the other hand has a big fat bud! I cannot wait to see it. I love yours!!!

My PinK from the Co-Op also bloomed today..it was so very large. Will get a digital photo tomorrow...have been very involved in rescuing a Great Dane...from a very mean and
nasty neighbor. I finally have her..thanks to Animal Control, Code, and the South Carolina Electric Company.

The Lotus are great plants....see you all tomorrow.

Wow that is gorgeous.

How much would postage be to ship a tuber? *sighs* Like playsndirt, i'm painfully poor LOL! I have this water lily that hasnt bloomed, I counted back and I've had it for about three years. Poor thing has been shipped from house to house. It lived in an aquarium for two years LOL! It's a trooper, and I have no clue as to what kind it is.Was thinking if shipping is REALLY cheap I could send some of it to someone and see if they can get it to bloom. *grins* "Ive dubbed it the Mystery Lotus Mutant Thingie".~tsavo

that is a beautiful flower ! i'd love to have a seed or two !

Old Forge, PA, OH(Zone 6a)

Crimson,

If you would like, I can send the postage ahead of time, and I would really like to see if I can get it to bloom. I received a huge supply of Hyacinth and Fern from Badseed just a couple of days ago. She sent them Priority Mail, and it only cost $4.75 in postage. If you are still willing to SASE a tuber of that lily, let me know.

Sure, id be more than willing to try it. How do i package it? I'd love to see if it blooms too,LOL. I got it from my great aunt and she had all sorts of flowers in her pond. Email me and ill send you the address~hugs!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Crimson, just cut off a healthy piece with roots and leave a few leaves on it. Put it in a one gallon bag and make sure to leave air in the bag to keep it padded. I like to use either styrofoam peanuts and/or extra empty plastic grocery bags for extra padding. Pop it into a priority box and you are good to go. :)

Hey Kristi, I forgot to post my yellow! Looks like my pink didn't make it. We will have to trade in the spring while they are still dormant! I have another bud about to bust on the yellow. Oh, the fish kept digging mine out-ended up putting the huge bucket in the pond. Anywhere a sprout hit, it rooted. Looks like I should have some extras.
A little funny...when all the petals fell off, my hubby said, "That beautiful flower, reduced to a shower head!". ROTFLOL

The lotus bloom is beautiful. Neither of mine from the co-op grew. think the weather was still too cold here. Should have tried to keep them in the greenhouse for awhile. Donna

Here is a site you will all enjoy...
http://www.victoria-adventure.org

They offer free lotus seed, water lily seed, tropical water lily seed and lots of information on how to start water plants from seed and to make it successful.

The seed trade for just the postage that it costs them
to mail to you...

Fantastic photos and information
The email list is about maybe 15 a day and has so much
great info...like, I did not realize that you could not
cut the old leaves on the lotus back to underneath the
water in your pot...this drowns your lotus and it dies...

Just thought you would all enjoy this Free Site...the
photos will blow you away.

Have a Great Weekend.

Stephanie
