I have a 5 way cherry (5 types grafted on it), and just bought land that has quite a few cherries growing around, as hedging basically. They are loaded with cherries, they are sweet and really small compared to regular store bought cherries. Similar taste. Maybe not as good, actually have a weird curry flavour. But I like em. Is that a sour cherry?
Thanks.
Sweet vs sour cherries?
Any Pie or sour cherry that I have grown or eaten was quite a bit smaller than sweet cherries, and unless dead ripe were quite sharp. About the taste of curry I don't remember that . Birds don't eat pie cherries as readily as they do sweet cherries. Donna
Thanks Donna, I think they are sour then, because the birds aren't touching them and they are fully ripe. They are sweet, but possibly I missed the bitter season.
sour cherries make the best jam!!! yum yum
