My friend sent me your thread, I'm a newby and I'm interested in the pink and peach, seems to florish well, would this do the same in a zone 5? Thanks Denise
Pink and Peach
tomden, they take winter care in your zone, you would have to overwinter inside,it is not too difficult, they like a dormancy period,in a cool dark basement or garage, well worth the effort!Welcome to Daves!
I'm in Ohio, zone 5 also. Can tell you all about how to winter etc.
Welcome to Daves, Tomden. Brugs are growable everywhere with winter care! Hibiscus knows all!
Welcome to DG
Denise, welcome to Daves Garden and the brug forum. Hope we will see you here often. If you stick around this group, you will soon be addicted to brugs and don't worry, they are fairly easy to winter over. Much easier to take cuttings and winter them over though. They don't take up as much space.
Thankyou all, I will definitely be watching this thread, ready and willing to learn. Denise
Hi Denise,
welcome at Daves. You will learn here all about brugs.
Regards from Germany...:-)

Great bunch of teachers here, and so many unbelievable photos. I'm watching my first buds and waiting for some blooms.
welcome please sign the release of liabiltiy clause as we cannot be held responsible for your brug addiction or any attivities you might engage in to obtain said plants. Example* begging, whining, pleading, nighttime raids on garden ect. lol hope you catch it bad. cheryl
Welcome tomden! Which pink and peach were you thinking about?
They grow in zone 3 very well. Mine spend the winter in
the dinning room or in the basement where they die back
and come back from the roots. The ones in the dinning room
tend to sulk and drop alot of leaves so they get decorated
with the appropriate ornaments for the different holidays-
helps them blend in better. The growing tips keep producing
new leaves but the plants really slow down.
Some years I can put them out early in May but this year
the warm nights were slow in coming so they didn't go out
until the second week of June.
Hibiscus, Please, do tell the winterize. Thankyou all for the warm welcome. Where can I acquire these? Denise
