I'm in love-will these ever make it to Canada?????
Lilypon

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I would think not for awhile Lilypon. But at least we have something to look forward to.

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

Waaaa I can't wait!!!!!!!! Oh the torment! I NEED one NOW!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The corolla tube stays green. Pink doubles lacking color. My dream would be colored like Rosalie or Rubirosa.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Simply gorgeous!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

another beauty!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Monika, That is so pretty. I can't say I am patiently waiting until those colors are available here in US. I would dearly love to have one like that one. Donna

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Beautiful. It almost makes me want to compost all my brugs.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Monika, you really have some beauties. I hope some of these beauties will make it to the U.S. one day.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Monika,

we are waiting for more pictures.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm bored today and thought that some of the newbies might enjoy looking at some of Monikas brugs. Monika, was this one you hybridized?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It WAS a sister to Carmela. Almost all flowers were deformed. Each bud had two calyxes, a double set of skirts and no anthers and/or stigma.

What do you think causes these types of things to happen? Would it be something to do with the cross?

Washington, PA(Zone 6b)

WOW! That's a pretty picture...

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

So you composted this one. So sad.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

That is so sad, wonderful color though. Monika I would like to see some more of your Rubirosa line when you have time to pull up some of those.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Me too, I love your pink ones!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Tonight’s the Night

Stay away from my window
Stay away from my back door too
Disconnect the telephone line
Relax baby and draw that blind

Kick off your shoes and sit right down
Loosen off that pretty french gown
Let me pour you a good long drink
Ooh baby don’t you hesitate, ah

Tonight’s the night
It’s gonna be alright

I am cursed to hear music when I see certain words! Help!!

So Monika, I understand you sent seeds to us in the US so we could have a double pink!!! Thanks so much!! You are such a doll to help us all out!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I noticed, that too much versicolor influence causes problems in doubles.
Carmela and her unnamed sister are out of a very interesting cross. They have RK and EP on both sides of the pedigree.
I pollinated Carmela with Rubirosa and the seedlings out of this cross are doing very well. I have also send seeds out of this cross together with a phyto to US-brug fanciers. A special cross was send to tiG: Charleston x Rubirosa. She mailed me in January, that several of the seedlings will flower in the near future. I have myself large Charleston x Rubirosa seedlings ready to flower and I am anxiously looking forward to see the results. Maybe double Pinks here and in the US??????????
I also pollinated Carmela x Estella but this pod is not ripe yet.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

This will be great! I cant wait to see pictures of these.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

So are we Monika!!! So a double pink is so close to blooming here! That is too cool.

Thanks Monika for sharing these with the US. Just think soon due to your generosity we all will have double pinks blooming in our yards. I know you do not charge for your seeds that you have sent here, you just want to share with the US brug lovers, but if you did you would make a fortune!!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I probably could, but sharing seeds makes much more fun!
I cannot guarantee a double Pink but the possibility of obtaining a double Pink is given.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

WOW,tigs a lucky girl......

I'm bummed now...most of my doubles I crossed with versi....

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

CC, it works well, if the double, you use as mother plant, is a double in first generation.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I'm not sure I know what you mean...

The mother plants I made the crosses were Enchanted double white,Candidia Double white and Creamsickle

mostly with EP

I'm not sure if any of them were 1st generation

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

x candida double White should produce good progeny but I dont know about Enchanted double white. Creamsickle x EP is very interesting. Creamsickle is strongly influenced by versicolor but I would have made this cross also. My Creamsickle has a small pod by Rubirosa.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Very beautiful Monika. I can hardly wait until we can get some lovely double pinks in the U.S.

Patricia

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

You just can't help yourself ... have to keep coming back for a peek or two!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I can't quit looking at this flower, it is so beautiful!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Interesting thread! I think this flower is a goner Susie.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oh I forgot, this is the one that went to the compost pile isn't it?? What I wouldn't give for a chance to raid Monika's compost pile!
