Which Passifloras stay at a size that is house friendly?
I'm new to Daves Garden and pretty new to Passifloras.
I live in Zone 3b which means the Passionflower will be
spending at least 9 months of the year inside. I have
purchased a few over the net and have been "shocked"
at how big some of them are getting! Some of the others
have a more reasonable sized leaf...so far!
P.S. Tim I am now a paying member!
Newbie question Re: Passiflora
Lilypon I've found that Citrinia, sanguiolenta and capsularis are all easily maintained in hanging baskets(I use 12" ones) inside in the winter. Elizabeth and Violacea Form #3 bloomed well inside a sunny greenhouse and didn't take over the whole place. Foetida Hirsuta rested during the winter, not completely dormant, but not really growing till spring and was manageable in a hanging basket.
Thank you Calalily!
These are now at the top of my wish list!!
P. trifasciata, biflora, and murucuja will do too.

How about P. cuprea and fledermouse? They both have smaller leaves and flowers and seem to behave pretty well. Both are maroon flowered.

Dawn, those sound pretty. Where did you find them?
I got them both last year from Grassy Knoll. I don't know why, but she doesn't seem to be selling P. cuprea this year. Mine is doing fine and I was just about to go out and make a few cuttings when I finish writing this. Maybe I'll have a few to trade in a few weeks. I thought I had pictures of both, but I only have one of P. x 'fledermouse' from last October.

It is so cute! I like it. I need to go to her site and look around.
Will any of the above come true from seeds?
