Thank you very much for your kind comments.

A wonderful picture--I grew the red and an unknown variety, kind of lavender, on a chain link fence in St. Petersburg, Florida, for years, but never had blooms of this substnce. They were growing there when I bought the house, and the lavender was still there 9 years later, when I left. I found the red difficult to keep growing.

Very nice, where do you get the red? I have one purple it has yet to bloom. Maybe soon

I found the red to be the most common variety being
sold in hardware store chains here in Florida. The tag
only says PASSIONFLOWER VINE RED.
The photo of the red above was the first flower and
I thought it was P coccinea. I'm waiting for more blooms to be definitive about the specie. It might be P vitifolia.

I had the 2nd bloom yesterday. Now I'm definite it is
indeed Passiflora coccinea.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BEAUTIFUL PICTURES. I'V LIVED ACCROSS THE STATE IN ST PETE FOR 3 YRS NOW. I COME FROM NORTHERN VA. I HAD THEM IN VA. BUT I REALLY THOUGHT THE ROOTS NEEDED TO BE COOL FOR THESE LOVELIES TO SURVIVE. I HAVE A NICE COLLECTION OF RED, WHITE AND BLUE FLOWERS IN MY FRONT GARDEN AND A LARGE ANCHOR FENCE. I WOULD LOVE TO GROW THESE ON THE FENCE.IF I CAN FIND THE PLANTS I'LL JUST GIVE IT A TRY. THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING
