What do you think??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I did not think these were viable (arborea X pink vulcanicola) but I finally got around to picking them and the seeds are black inside and wet and gooey. No way this pod was on 4 months. Do you think they are good to plant? Should I try to wash the goo off them first?

Kell I am the queen of ignorance, but umm since they are picked and all how about you try washing half and planting them and not the other half and see what happens? If nothing happens --well you learned nothing but on the other hand, you could offer some research info here? you have forgotten more about brugs then I will ever know but,----well its worth a shot? cheryl

Looks to me like the first ones were ready. The second one doesn't look even close.

I agree with Brugie. I picked a pod yesterday that had been on for about 6 weeks(cutting back plants, pod had to go) and I planted the seeds just to see. So go ahead and plant them Kell, nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say! I'd wash them first, just to get the yuckie stuff off and you know me, I peel everything.

I think Poppysue or someone had some of the white ones germinate

Go for it Kell!!!

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes... I had a couple white arborea seeds sprout from a pod that got knocked off. Plant them!!

I would do it! What have you got to lose but a little soil and a little time!

Sow out the seeds from first picture, like Brugie told you.
