Still no flowers

Bel Air, MD(Zone 6a)

I keep looking everyday. My brug is more like a bush, should I cut the lower leaves off and why does it not Y

Have patience. keep them watered and well fertilized. I thought I'd never see a flower last summer. By the end of the summer load of them were blooming and the ones that didn't had Yed and started to bud.

Mine are starting to grow so much each day, I hardly recognize them when I get up each morning! It's been extraordinarily hot here, maybe that has something to do with it. I hoping for blooms before frost too. I love the way they raise thier leaves a little at night to go to sleep- like prayer plants do :o)

It looks good and healthy. Bloom time depends a lot on what part of the plant the cutting came from. What size pot is it in? You may want to sink the pot into the ground if you have a place to. The roots will grow through the bottom and it takes a lot less water. I think mother natures soil provides some of the nutrients that we can't artificially too.

They look great, you don't have a thing to worry about,it is almost as exciting to see the Y as a bud,you will be pleased when they do.
Funny I have had Brugs for a few years and never noticed the way they fold up,till Shirley pointed it out to me,that is a treat to.

How much sun does it receive daily? They do great in the shade for producing green foliage - but mine need several hours of sunlight a day to produce blooms.

Most of my brugs are blooming well with just a few hours a day of direct sun. However, I had one that didn't grow at all until I moved it to a sunnier location. Now, it is growing by leaps and bounds.

I agree with everyone else - - your brug looks very healthy. So hang in there! The wait is worth it.

Thanks for the information. This is the Brug Callie gave me last year. The one she gave to my sister Ginlyn has lots of blooms. It was a tree(lol) when she came to see us with Roadrunner and Carol. I think I will find a place to put it in the ground. I have a cutting from it and it is growing really good.

Ok,
I'm confused. I was given 2 plants last year and thought both were angels trumpets. one looks like the metel and the buds keep falling off before they open up all the way. The other ones leaves don't look anything like that one. They look like the one from the picture a few messages before this one from SGTDOT AND STILL NO BLOOMS. Which is what? Please help. The later is getting bigger and bigger but no blooms.
Thanks sooo much.

Callie. I forgot the name off this brug, do you remember?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Pretty flower Sgtdot! I would have said it would take longer to bloom from the first picture. So exciting!

Poor Theresa, we never helped her. I wonder if the first one you received is really a datura. Some people call them angel trumpets also. I wonder if you are overwatering it. They like it drier than brugs. The second a real brug. If you had pics we could be more help! See Sgtdot's bloomed, so will yours. It will just take its time! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Welcome to the brug forum, hope you post again!
