Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Beautiful Kell. Love those tendrils.

Hamilton, Canada

Kell they are both beautiful. Finally someone has Rothkirch to bloom and the tendrils are great! What pollen are you going to put on it? Does it have a fragrance?
Congrats on doing such a great job growing both of them!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Fantastic, beautiful even! Please tell us which is which?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Rothkirch in front and L'Amour in the back. Love them both. Great picture Kell.

Brugie is correct as usual!

They are 2 very different flowers.

the pic looks like a magazine cover. i wonder if your weather or soil keeps the colors from being darker. Monika's pics of RK show a much deeper color.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It could be the climate. Her summers are really cool and cool temps make pinks lighter.(but make sangs grow good which makes me jealous!)

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Again, beautiful!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

How dark did your RK get Susie? And Gloria, do you have any buds yet?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, it got dark. I am still having camera problems.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

well all I have to say is WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I want mine to be dark also!

Nope! Think mine needs a shot of Steroids, Cortizone or Hormones!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Hibiscus, talk to Tracey, she's got the secret to blooms!
I gave everything a big dose of fertilize the other day, I think they've grown a foot and the leaves are so green!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I've been asking Tracey, she won't talk!

I put a handfull of 20-20-20 in each brug pot, haven't died yet, have not seen much happening either.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

sure she did Gloria. on sev. threads. she fertilizes them enough to kill the common plant!!! feeds them when she waters. She even gave us the names of the fertilizers. She has minors in hers. They were in and maybe still are in a professional. GH so maybe that helps also. mine are in unprofessional yard and looks like they are!

LOL Susie, after hearing Tracey Sunday, I went out and crawled into my brug rows tossing fertilizer all over the place. Then I foliar fed with peters. I was afraid I would burn them but they are shooting up!

Tracey has that injector fertilizer system in her water I believe. I only have Kell's good left hook!

edited in case you can't read gibberish.

I have an injector system and they are nice. Of course the day I need to use it, DH has it unhooked and I have to do the bucket brigade! No burned leaves so far(though I've done that before)

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Well, Kell, I have been really pushing fertilizer to them, expecting to see them dead next day. We had over 2" of rain yesterday, so think I can push them a lot with all that rain, wil,let you know when I start seeing some results.

Mine has minors also, plus I have used epsom salts, waiting patiently here......

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Susie, do you have a source for Peters Excel? I think my local greenhouse would order it for me if we knew where to get it.

Thanks!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brugie a local greenhouse supply store has it here. We use Master Blend acid special with minors(specially formulated for my hard water)but I'm on the last bag. I hope they will ship to Texas!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Droool, droooool. I think I will go pray over mine. :)

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Cala, you use the acid stuff on your brugs? Is that like the fertilizer used on rhodies?

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Kell, great pictures. Next year we must change pollen from LÁmour and Rothkirch. I need to know.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the info. I'm going to check with our local nursery and see what they can come up with.
