I saw a medium size fountain put together ... it looked like a biiig pot , filled with pebbles.. I think the pump was set under ground, and the ground hole covered in stone, and a mesh plate. Then the top at ground level was covered in flagstone (I think). The pot was set on top of that, with a pipe in the middle, but all covered up so it looked like a pot full of pebbles.
The water came from underground, pumped into the pot, and trickled down the sides of the pot ...
Has anybody else seen this? If you happen to have seen it, and remember a picture somewhere online, would you please share? I'm trying to plan out a fountain of some kind.... not a full pond.. not yet. I don't think I'll have the time to keep a pond, with the algae, and plant maintenance and the like.
TIA,
-Jennifer
I think it was on hgtv ...
I think I've seen similar in a magazine. I'll thumb through a couple tonite. If I find something similar maybe I can scan it for you.

Jenn, are you referring to the one we saw at Phippes a couple years ago? I've seen those at either Lowe's or Home Depot in a kit form. It gives the illusion of an overflowing pot of water. Would you consider a bubbling bird bath?
Poppy - I see something almost like it in one of those hgtv sites.. it's not quite it, though . Maybe I saw it on another channel, and just remember hgtv..
overflowing pot of water... filled with pebbles.. :) That's the best description. I can't remember if it was at Phipps or not ... I'd have to dig out the old photos to see ...
Bubbling bird bath? I'd rather try to see if I can find a setup or instructions to make the pot before a bird bath. For a bird bath I can just get a plastic normal one ..
Thanks..... keeeep 'em coming .
They sold these for $49 last year here at Big Lots a clearence store chain.
So they do exist...
I also saw in the current issue of Fine Gardening ... a ground level fountain made from a millstone and some pebbles... very pretty..
I'll have to start searching the stores closer to my move-in date.
Thanks!
-Jennifer
