I felt kind of silly typing that title, lol. I will need to dig and move some callalilies in the next couple of weeks. These have been in the ground for a couple of years. They have bloomed and some have seedpods. Do I just dig them and cut the tops off? Let them go dormant? I've never had to move them while they are still growing.
Callalily question
I would think that if you got enough dirt with them that you could take them to TX and put them right back in the ground. Otherwise, I would do as you mentioned. For moving, it might be best to not have to deal with more pots. I don't envy you this job. I do envy you living in sunny and warm southern TX though.
Never moved them before...sorry I can't help.
Cala don't know if this helps ya or not. I dig mine when the foilage starts looking ratty. That way I don't have everything to dig at once in the fall. If they have stopped blooming and are putting out seed pods I would think they would be fine to dig and bag.
Thanks everyone. They are looking ratty, so I will try digging and bagging.
I took Flame out of the mixed container it was in and put it in a pot.It seems fine......
