Looks like Isabella? Not sure...

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Gwist, all I can tell you that it is a hybrid with suaveolens and versi influence. There are so many look alikes by now that it is impossible to identify them.
Could it be Raffaela? Adora? I dont think it is Pink Favorite or HG-90-95.

Monika,I got it as a cutting from my friend in the U.S.,so it's not a Euro Brug.It smells great, though, but it is hard to give it to someone and say"it's the pink one",lol. This year it is already 6 feet tall,so I will be cutting it back a bit in Fall and I need some help naming it.Would Suaveolens Pink work? Thanks for the help Monika and Hibiscus.

Gwist, it looks very much like what I know as Insignis Pink. The photo below is comparison between Frosty Pink on left and Insignis Pink on Right. Isabella is also very similar to Insignis Pink. Monika may know it as something else.

Barb,
thanks for posting a picture of the FP. I had asked on another post for someone to do a comparison photo with FP. Now I know for sure that the plant that I have is NOT FP, so it must be the Rosea hybrid cutting that I got from Owen last year. I'll post photos later when it flowers again. Its a really deep rosy pink and darkens to almost an orangish pink when mature. The color goes much futher up the flower than either one of the ones you posted.

Barb,

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Yup its definetly the Rosea hybrid! The flower shape, tendrils, calyx etc are exactly the same as your posting for Rosea. Originally the plant was grown from seed by Owen and the seeds came from LBJ. Owen sent me a small cutting and I must say that the flowers on this plant stay on for about a week and get progressively darker. Its a real stunner so I'm going to keep it. My coloring is even deeper than your color above and by the time the bloom is almost spent is orangish pink/rusty pink!

I went back again to Preisel's book and the description for Rothkirch says it turns reddish as the flower fades. Mine doesn't exactually become reddish, but more rusty/ rosy/orange.

I will have to take photos on the next round of blooms as there are another round of buds already formed. Vicky Harding deserves credit for this one! I saved the pollen from the first 2 flowers. If this is the first round of blooms I can't wait to see the next round of blooms!

Monika, Kyle, Ludger,
Any suggestions as to what pollen I should put on this flower? I saved the pollen from the first two flowers so I can put that pollen on something else later.

I would use EP on it as it has already too much suaveolens.
I dont believe that Rosea, as pictured above is a direct Rothkirch offspring.

Joydie, Owen didn't grow Rosea from seed. If you have a seedling from him, it can't be Rosea. Maybe he sent you a cutting? it's getting real hard to ID this pinks, isn't it?? lol

TiG,

Okay, found and checked my journal I kept with the cuttings I received and the cutting Owen sent me was Rosea x hybrid grown from seed which he got from Vicki Harding. Mystery solved. Duh, and I'm not even blonde, maybe I should get a blonde weave.

Monika,
Thanks for the EP suggestion. I love the leaves on this plant, they are long and narrow unlike the big suaveolens leaves. When I pollinate the flower, what is the best time to put pollen on them? first day, second day??? I've never done this before.

Barbara,it looks a lot like Insignis Pink, and thanks for the photos.Maybe I can finally label it,lol. That Rosea and the Frosty is gorgeous, too!
Joyce, believe me you don't want to get a Blonde weave...I did Blonde braids for the summer, and I am forgetting everything, lol!!!!

Gwist,

I can't remember things from one day to the next so blonde braids or a weave would be perfect!

The photos really do help tremendously. I'm so glad people post them.

How are your other brugs coming along? Our temperatures have been really cool compared to previous years. I've got buds on a 1 foot tall versi x Exotica cutting that I ordered. It had a Y when I got it and was about 4" tall. It will be the first versi to flower for me so I'm excited!

Some of the candida Golden Lady cuttings are really taking off except a couple of them that were really pathetically small when I got them.

Joyce,
the heat is wearing me and the Brugs down, lol, but lots of buds on almost everything..even 2 seedlings! That orange one is finally holding on to its buds and I am hoping to see a few flowers on it this year.It did rain 2 days ago(thank goodness) and the temps dropped 15 degrees from 35c to 20c,but alas, the heat is back and will stay for the next week.
The photos are great and gorgeous, plus I can finally put a name on that 7foot tall Brug, lol.
Go blonde Joyce..it's a great excuse..hee hee.

Gwist,
Can you imagine me blonde, good grief. My daughter puts blonde in her braids all the time and it looks fabulous on her. This week she has silver blonde streaks in her braids. One never knows what she will put in next. One time she had deep blue in, but she has the type of face where she can get away with it, she's really stunning looking and so tiny and petite.

I'm glad everytime it rains, don't have to pay for water, lol. We had so much rain this spring that everything was late transplanting outdoors. Neighbour looks like she MIGHT have tomatoes by November. Geesh, veggie gardens are a disaster this year.

Take care and keep as cool as possible.
