Please email me the following info if you would like to sign up for the secret iris exchange:
1. Your DG name
2. Name & mailing address (zip+4 is supposed to ship faster, but that's up to you)
3. What you want to trade: named iris, unknown iris, or both (one trade of each)
4. Include any messages that you would like me to pass along to your trader - colors you'd prefer, colors you don't want, etc. Keep in mind that your preferences may not make a difference if your trader isn't growing the particular color that you'd like. To me, I just think it's a lot of fun in the spring when my irises start flowering and I can see my new iris in bloom. Of course, it kind of feels like christmas when you get your package, too! My only personal request is that the iris are different from what I already have. That's just me.
You can also include what colors you plan to trade or would have available to make it a bit easier for me to sort trades by preferences. If you don't have any particular preferences, that would be great to know, too. :-)
The exchange rules:
1. You must send at least 3 rhizomes of bearded iris. They can be all the same color or different colors.
2. Iris should be mailed out within 7 days once you get your trader's name.
3. I just weighed 3 large sized iris rhizomes that I received on wednesday from Zebra Gardens. They weighed 12oz in Priority box 01096L and 14oz in the Box #4, so I don't think it is unreasonable to require Priority Mail shipping for this trade. It's only $3.85 for up to 16oz and is only .10 more than Parcel Post for the 14oz box.
MAKE SURE TO SHIP YOUR IRIS DRY. Iris wrapped in damp paper towels and plastic like most plant trades will turn to mush.
Please make sure to mark your iris if you are sending more than one color! You can use a permanent marker like a sharpie to write the color (or name for named varieties) right on the leaf. You can just include a note if only sending one type. A note would be nice either way since the writing on the leaf may be a little hard to read.

i can do both trades! :)
We have 3 people signed up for the unknowns and 2 for the named iris. Anyone else want to join in on the fun? I know at least a couple other people said they were interested in the other thread but I will need your info to officially count you.

Sorry for the delay in getting the names out. I've had a hectic week at work.
