Just a beautiful photo of your Rose of Sharon. I like your form so much that now I'm considering turning mine into a standard by trimming off all the lower branches so that it appears to be a "tree" rather than a bush. Very pretty!!
Wow, this is a beauty.... I have a rose of sharon, it's 5 or 6 years old and has never bloomed. It is otherwise very healthy looking, any suggestions?
I live in eastern Canada zone 5.
Cobalt.....Better late than never I guess lol, but I recall hearing some time ago that Rose of Sharon just do not do (flower) well on the East Coast. I forget the reasoning, but I believe it may have been either the colder winter temps as opposed to Southern Ontario's and/or the salty spray of the ocean. I believe I heard this info on one of HGTV's Kathy Renwald's gardening shows. You may be able to pull-up info from this show by going to hgtv.ca Good luck & at worst, you have a lush green shrub & that's not so bad!!
What kind is this? I love the light pink color??
