What the heck is it???

Cleveland, OH(Zone 5b)

I thought it was a tiny hummingbird, but it looks like a fat brown and red bug with two yellow stripes towards its tail. Its wings go as fast as a hummer and it was taking 'nectar' from my Gayfeather and Butterfly bush. Here's a picture (not good). Maybe someone can tell me what it is.

Definitely a sphynx moth. These guys are very cool to watch. I was fooled the first several times I saw a sphynx moth--until I got to see it close enough to tell that it had little antennae.

Thanx for the info! He hasn't been back since. I've never seen one before in my life!!! I guess I did plant some of the right stuff. LOL!

The ones I have seen are black and white. Maybe I can get a picture this year.
