It looks like a few of the brugs I started from seed have already made a Y, about 3 inches from the soil line, is this possible? I thought they had to be a lot bigger before it would happen. the plants are only about 8 inches high! some of the others are a lot taller, but still have just a single stem. Can I hope to see my first bloom this year? I'm keeping my fingers and toes and eyes crossed!
(I was all excited, pawing around all of them to see if I could find more, then I must have rubbed my eye, oops! now I'm all blurry, but happy!)
I have Y's!
Carena, this happens sometimes, they will probably make two stems. I've had a few do this. Usually one stem takes over and becomes dominant, but not always.
You probably have a while too wait yet Carena!
I am patient... I am patient... I am patient.... LOL :)
I've seen pics of plants blooming when the flowers are almost bigger than the plants, but I guess those must be from cuttings, I'm learning as I go! I hope the wait isn't too long! I want to say thanks so very much to the two of you for taking the time and for having the patience to answer my completely boneheaded novice questions, you are my Brug Angels!!
I have a few Dats that sweet Lenjo so graciously gave me, they aren't even up to my knees and they are blooming up a storm!

I still have the rest of the summer to go, maybe something will happen for me :)
Hi Carena,
do you have suavolenshybrids? Sometimes they will flower very soon ( seedlings).
Greetings Brugnut Ludger
we're pulling for you Carena
I have Ollie x Jean Pasko, Isabella x Jean Pasko and White Suaveolens x Insignis Pink
sounds like some great crosses!
I also have my first "Y" on Dr. Seuss, a cutting from one of you in either March or April. I have records, but not with me. How much longer do I have to wait for a flower? I am so jealous when I see the beautiful pictures you post.
I believe they will give very early flowers to you.
