I'm pretty sure I got this from Calla, but I'm never positive of anything,so forgive me if it was from someone else

but not sure of the name

on a piece of tape it says P. x violace form #3,is that what it is?

I'm in love again.......

Will it have any babies that need adoptive parents?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Looks like Violacea Form #3, that's the name(although it's an odd name). I have that one and it could have come from me. It's one of my favorites and bloomed well for me in the greenhouse even in the winter.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I sent you and poppysue each, a BIG plant of Violacea #3 last fall. Is that it??

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I was afraid to say where I got mine, I knew I'd get it wrong!!! I bet that's where Karyn got hers.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I sent you one also, Susie, before I sent the other two out.
Please say you got yours from me??????

Gloria

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Yes Gloria, I got mine from you. I thought this problem I have with mixing up people would get better, it only gets worse! The more people I get to know, the more I mix them up! I think it's inherited, my grandmother used to go down the list of grandchildren's names before she would get to the right one!

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Susie... Doesn't every mother & grandmother "call the roll"??

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Thank you S. It means a lot to me.

I will start putting my initials on the tags, maybe that will help. Hope it won't confuse people, and they think that is the name of the plant. Ha

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes,I probably got it from you,and its gorgeous!!!!
(Half my GH came from Susie so its easy for me to get confused)

I thank you again for it and when I get those plant tags, your name will go on it!

Is it hard to root?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Hibiscus, I've started doing that, putting the person received from's name on the back side of the tag(some add their names already). I also try to remember and add them to my garden journal(book form, not online) and also the name of the person who sent them.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Violacea Form #3 was very easy to root and grew well, that's why I had so many large plants to send out.

I write it down in my file with that one persons' name, what I sent them, and what I received back for trade. Have been doing this from the very beginning, 4 yrs. ago. So, now I will have to remember to put my initials on the tag. Hope this works out ok.

it's a P. x Violacea Form #3.
Check the tag, if it is marked P. x Violacea Form #3, it could be one of mine. I tend to mark everything properly. Susie, Sue, Karyn, Bonnie, and at least 10 more people received one from me.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Who ever sent it wrote the name on a large peice of clear packing tape, which I attached to the pot...
but I couldn't make out some of the letters.......

Tim, mine has gone crazy!!!

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

Bonnie...how are the 'Blue Bouquet'? Are they taking over your crepe myrtles?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gosh you are so organized Gloria! So for sure you know who you sent what to and what you got from whom! So smart of you. Must make you so happy that Susie and CC said that the plant you sent them was one of their favorites! They both have so many plants that is an accomplishment!

Hey where is mine? LOL

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

how did you know Tim?? but neither are flowering, what am I doing wrong?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I still have one from 3 years ago that STILL hasn't bloomed. It came from California, grows like crazy, but no blooms.I've tried it in the ground,in a pot and in a hanging basket.Tried fertilizing, not fertilizing.......I chopped the pot one and basket way back .I did the hanging basket one a few weeks ago and its growing like crazy....
This is the first year it didn't over winter outside.I'll try some again.......

But how do I get it to bloom?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Well I have two, so I probably got one from Gloria and one from Tim. I have Alata like that, got one from two different people. I love them!
Cc, have you tried using bloom booster fertilize? They don't need much nitrogen and BB has less nitrogen and more of the phosphorus they love.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Tried EVERYTHING!
Manure tea,MG bloom booster,peters Bloombooster.......regular MG.......
This time I'm gunna bomb it!!!!
