Its soooooo pretty!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

has the storm happened or is it the one they are talking about on the news?

A beauty Barb! As your usual!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Glad the tree didn't get this one, it's beautiful.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Very pretty. Mine has a Y now, but I haven't checked for buds. Thank you Barb for mailing the cuttings to me. I do appreciate your sharing so much.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Kell, this one is in by back yard. The tree hit in the lot behind our house that we purchased several years ago--had to tear a house down.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Beautiful.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

So you have a whole extra lot for your garden? Gee, you have your DH sure trained right!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Beautiful Barabara. I hope you didnt have another bad storm.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Monika and Kell No, the storm is to the west of us. Could get some rain from Claudette. Depending on how big she is and the direction she takes once she is over land.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I just heard on tv it is expected to hit Texas. Hope it stays on the ocean, where it causes less damage.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Beautiful Barb. I hope Claudette stays away from Texas too!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Susie, having some 2nd and 3rd thoughts...is your new house in the path?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We should be protected by the island. It's between us and the storm and we are not right on the Gulf.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Barb, what do you use for fertilising? Your brugs always look good.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Ludger, Thank you but I am a poor gardener--I just put anything I have on them. Wish I was more scientific about fertilizing and spraying but it isn't in my nature.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Barb, you don´t have to need ( hope I am saying it right...), your brugs look fantastic. May be your soil is good?

Go on posting your pictures,please.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Ludger, I wish my soil was good. I spend a fortune on buying soil, sand, bark, etc. For mothers day, my son bought me a load of sand. One of the best gifts I have ever received. My daughter gave me a gift certificate from Lowe's (home building/garden suppiles in US)-- I bought dirt.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Ok, you are in love with brugs.
They will notice it.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Well Barb, obviously your children know what you will appreciate most.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Bward, such a beautiful pink blooming brug. Hope Claudette stays away from your area. Good Luck Donna

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Sorry for this question: Doe´s Claudette mean there will come a storm?
I very hope not. Barb will need good times.
What is Claudette???

Thank you for informations.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, it's down to a tropical storm now Ludger, but they got a lot of rain and some damage from the little I've read this evening.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

A hurricane Ludger, going to hit Texas.

Barb, the year I got a big sack of cow manure for mothers' day was my happiest year! Can still remember it.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

My best was a shredder chipper, love it. Now I want a mini tiller. I want more grass gone and more garden beds.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

OMG.

Please say hello tomorrow.
I am praying for you.
I so hope you will be fine in some hours.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

We ladies are all soooo delicate. LOL! We love dirt, cow manure and chippers as presents.

Ludger, I will not get any wind or rain from the storm.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Happy to read this,Barb.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

my family rolls their eyes when I ask for dirt, but they know I'm going to do it!

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

hey? the guy down the street has horses---I was thinking about getting some NOW and spreading it on my beds this spring----how do I prepare it and should I mix it with anything over the winter? I have wheel barrels full of pinestraw----would they compost together or seperate? cheryl

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

This is not too scary of a hurricane. It's winds were only about 85 M.P.H, just 10 M.P.H above hurricane force. It will be messy but I doubt you will see collapsed or missing buildings. I really only get worried when they get over 115 M.P H. As you can guess, I have been through a lot of hurricanes.......

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

This brug is really gorgeous! Is it one that stays smaller or is the picture deceiving?

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Badseed, it stays smaller-more spreading.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

It is really, really pretty! This crusty weather is keeping all of mine short! Now if it would just make them bloom. LOL

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Barbara, it's lovely.

While Claudette was only a 1 level hurricane, there still was much damage done. Where I live I did not have 85 mph winds but they were very strong and broke many branches out of oak trees and pecan trees. Tall plants in my garden were blown over because of all the rain and the soil being soft. In the Houston area there are 65,000 without lights and that is much further in than I am. We have been without a phone for 3 days and I just got it repaired.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Cheryl I use komposted horse !!! , it is a very good feeder for the brugbeds.

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

playsndirt: I layer green (hot) horse manure with brown leaves. I use live oak leaves mostly. My last pile I started this spring and will use it next spring. When I put the composted stuff in my flower beds I mulch it over with more leaves. The worms love all of that and come and do lots of fertilizing for me.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Frannie, glad you were spared the worst of the storm.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Frannie, I'm so glad you are okay. I guess I wasn't thinking about the storm coming to you with such force. Wish I was there to help you clean up. We have had so much company for a week that I haven't really had time to even check the news. Take care.
