I think these are potato beetle eggs??? The beetle isn't like the normal potato beetle. He's smaller with several stripes down his back. When I see them I've been spraying with Seven, It kills the adults but now I'm finding eggs on some of the leaves. Does anyone else battle potato beetles? What do you spray with?

Acckkk....what next?

If those are almost the same as cucumber beetles, think Brugie has been fighting them.

I don't know if we have the same bug, but Sevin won't kill my cucumber beetles. I have to squish them. I've read that Enstar will kill them, so when my brugs start showing more than they have been, I'll get out the spray and see what happens. We don't have potato beetles here, only the cuke beetles and squash bugs. At least I've never seen them. Hope someone can help you. I hate having to fight bugs all the time.

I read a blurb on the web about a Bt strain for potato beetles. I wonder if it would work for cucumber beetles too.

those eggs were prominent on the datura i grew last year. i cut off the leaves and burn them. 1st time i notice it, i ignored, and they kept multiplying. last resort was cut off the leaves and burn them... the only way i controlled their population.

Hi MaVie,

Poppysue, I'd like to try anything that could possibly control them. Guess I'll go surfing when all the family is gone on Wednesday. Thanks!!

Thanks MVR. They aren't thick here yet, but it won't be long. I've seen some and have squished most of them. Last year I could have squished all day and not put a dent in the numbers.

u're welcome Brugie. when the egg population increased is when i decided to start cutting off the leaves as i have no idea on how to prevent them from further spreading. i've seen those eggs very frequently all summer long. cutting off the leaves and burning was my only alternative i had at the time. i hate bugs specially when i do not know how to get rid of them. so far, i have not seen any as yet.
