Sodium-Free Seasoning Mixes: from Jane Brody's Good Food Book
AHA Herb Mix (All-Purpose from the American Heart Association)
1/2 tsp cayenne (red pepper)
1 Tb garlic powder
1 tsp basil 1 1/2 tsp leaves + 1 tsp marjoram (Amish Recipes)
1 tsp thyme (1 1/4 tsp leaves)
1 tsp parsley 1 1/2 tsp leaves
1 tsp savory (1 1/4 tsp leaves)
1 tsp mace
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp sage 1 1/2 tsp leaves
Combine all seasonings in a blender jar. Blend the ingredients at medium high speed until they are ground.
(I use a coffee grinder)
For Vegetables and Meat
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp majoram
3/4 tsp rosemary
1/2 tsp sage
Vegetables, Meat & Poultry
3/4 tsp majoram
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp sage
1/2 tsp rosemary
For Fish
3/4 tsp parsley flakes
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp sage
1/4 tsp marjoram
1/4 tsp paprika
Meat, Potatoes & Vegetables
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp sage
1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp marjoram
