My favorite flowers!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I have tried and tried these and never can get them fat and happy looking. Is there a secret?

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

'Black Forest' is my very favourite calla, too (o:
Followed by the very large flowered 'white' and the large flowered 'yellow with black eye' ..
whatever their names are. (They did not come to me with names attached.)
Severalof my callas survived my harsh winter 2003 (zone 6) inground to come back better than ever this year
than in the years when I 'babied' them. ???

Gilmer, TX

Oh, I must start looking for Black Forest, I don't have that one and he is a beauty. Mine have not bloomed here as well as I'd hoped. I'm in zone 7b, harsh Texas sun. I have them in a shady area. Could that be my problem?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

The yellow with the black eye sounds cool.....

OK,I give,where do I order it from?

Cat lady, mine are in full sun, don't know how heat would affect it cause we don't get alot of it......

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

CC, is that a eucalyptus in the background? BTW, you have mail and those are gorgeous calas!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes ,its a eucalyptus ,I found it at a local GH......

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful, Karyn..........love them all! Pam, I think ours would do better in partial shade or filtered sun particularly because of our intense heat.

"eyes"

Gilmer, TX

That's what I was thinking when I planted them 'eyes'. Maybe I'm just getting impatient.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I have tried twice to no avail,I did them in sun, maybe that was my problem, stunning group you have CC!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

OK,cancel my order for the yellow with the black eye...LOL
My yellow bloomed and ......it has a black eye......

C.C.

The last picture you posted looks like my "Black Eyed Beauty". I think it's more creamy whitish color with a dark eye. I also love its variegated leaves too! Great picture of C. "Black Forest".

BTW, mine are in the shade and surrounding a container water garden. They probably could take pt. sun, as long as, they don't dry out.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Mine is a light colored yellow, not a bright yellow at all.....

Oakland, CA(Zone 9b)

Out here in Northern CA they seem to prefer the cooler spring weather, when the hot summer weather hits they start to disappear back into the ground.

Those are gorgeous colored cannas! I'm so envious, I've had terrible luck getting them to come back until I discovered they absolutely had to be dry during dormancy or they rotted on me. I moved all the colored cannas to a dry partial shade bed and have my fingers crossed that they'll come back for me.

I had something kinda fun come up in the standard whites this week. One of them has a double flower, here's a picture!

Beautiful calla lilies CC! I bought "Flame" from Home Depot--for $2. It has come up, but no flowers yet. It's go a ways to go yet! I'll have to see what my flowers look like. No white spots on the leaves, but it's only been growing for about 2 1/2 months so far.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Very pretty Callas Karyn. I only have one and it has bloomed two blooms this year. Pink. I don't know names. It was one I got from the Roundup.
