Broken Begonia - HELP!!!!!

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

This morning I found all of the stems broken off of one of my tuberous begonias. It had been a beautiful healthy plant, over a foot tall, with three healthy stems and lots of big yellow blooms. I suspect my sister's very large cat broke off the stems when he went racing out of the door. Is there any way for me to salvage this begonia? Can the stems be rooted in water? Or potting soil with rooting hormone? What about the tuber? Should I just leave it in it's pot or is it done for the year? HELP!!!!! I loved this plant - this was the biggest most beautiful begonia I have ever grown.

Pop the stems (take off any flower buds) into potting soil and they should take root. The tuber will probably be fine, leave it where it is for now, it may pout up a few more sprouts yet.

Thanks Baa. I really appreciate your help - I am going to pot them up right now.
