Hello, I picked this one up as a bedding plant, looked it up in two encyclopedias and it isn't there! It has silver foliage, and definately a groundcover. I am curious which species it is. Dennis
Dichondra 'Silver falls', what is it?
I've got it too Dennis, I have it in the ground. Dawn tells me that it won't overwinter outside so I shouldn't worry about it rooting at every node. If it does overwinter I will %&$^ her. LOL

Thanks Liz. It's a weed eh? Jeepers. Well I like it for now. It does look hardy to me. I bet it'll survive your place (Sorry Dawn LOL!) One way to find out!
Dennis, its a new hybrid of the old green Dichondra like is used out west for groundcover and yards. This one is more for hanging baskets and trailing over pots. Not considered frost hardy.
:-)
I bought some and have it in the hanging baskets, looks great!
Thanks everyone. It is great, I like the foliage. Did I mention that? Wow. Silver kidneys!
LOL
Very metallic in sun.........needs to be moist not wet and allowed to get real dry.Great accent plant
I guess I'm dead in the water if Dichondra takes over, eh Liz. I had it last year in containers and it was beautiful up to Feb. Then looked like wet rag. I pulled it out. So it almost made it over last mild winter in containers but no rooting along stem (even though I tried to place it advantageously). I'll have to be over there pulling it out for you it it takes over, even though it's classified as an annual.
Sunrise, I have seen petunias (yes petunias!!!) survive this past winter. Any other winter they would be dead. Dead in November. So if it looked aweful this year it will surely die normally.
Don't worry, if it lives I'll help you pull it at Liz's, I like it!
Wow, that looks like what we call "dollar grass". Is it the same?
I love it too, Dennis, especially with black containers or black mondo. So thanks for the offer of help. Dawn
