its fruit have seeds or not and how is it cultivated or grow ?
The fruit does have seeds. However, the method of choice for propagation is grafting.
I hope this thread stays for awhile, I have some questions concerning my star fruit and hope to talk to other south florida folks who have this tree Jim
Thamaturgist, about a month ago I planted a starfruit seed in a pot and now have about a three inch tree, I just wanted to see if I could do it, now however, I hate to just throw it out, if I decide to raise it for awhile and then give it away to some one, will it get fruit or is it necessary for them to be grafted?
The problem with a seedling (for most fruits) is that it is unpredictable as to when it will fruit, if at all.
Moreover, if it does fruit, the quality of the fruit is in most cases worse than the parent's.
Thank you for getting back to me thaumaturgist, I guess it's off to star fruit heaven for this little guy, oh well, at least I know I could grow one from seed, but I have a 6 ft tree and it provides me with more then enough fruit. Jim
