Started this bed three years ago-there was nothing there. Always amazed at the growth of tropicals in one season. The bed contains, pines, crepe myrtles, blue ginger, zebra grass, black magic ee, illustrus ee, XANTHOSOMA JACQUINII LINEATUM ee, banana, cannas, hydrangeas, fig tree, tibochina, four-o'clocks, ruellia, and several types of verbena (can't spell). There are more that I can't remember. Oh, and brugmansias.

BIG DROOL Here!!
Wow!Speechless....
Can't afford to move to FL-zone 10, so thought I would bring Fl here. Keep testing plants to see if they can survive our winters, which are not that cold 10-15 degrees. But, we are also wet, which means rot. Always plant one and put one in greenhouse-just in case.
I'd be happy will last years bed!what is to the left of center on last years?is it a birdnest fern?
No, crinum.
Drop me your addy,I see some castors that can come your way.
Looks like alot lived thru the winters. Looks so nice. Did you buy any more plants for your bed when in Florida Barb?
Is that frydek on the right side? Was wondering how big it would get as I have two small ones in pots.
Pass the Drool rags, Roots.........very impressive!!

Kell, can you imagine being in FL and not buying plants? I came back with grasses and ground orchids. Love those ground orchids. Got yellow, purple and a dwarf purple. First time growing them.
If I went to FL I would be coming back with a truck full!
Heck ,I came back with a lot from Alabama!!!!
Your gardens are gorgeous,I never got any of my tropicals planted in the area I wanted to put them in,and now its even getting late to put stuff in.......
but I can drool over yours!
I have never seen them Barb. Would you post a few pictures? I sure would like to live vicariously! Your yard must be so beautiful, even with this terrible mishap!
Bward,
I LOVE the look of your garden! That's exactly the look I'm going for in my back yard but I'm starting late (constant rain before and after Bill) and my plants are small. I'm just going to go for it and see what happens. There's a tropical plant sale at City Park this weekend so I plan to load up! Maybe in a few years my garden can look like yours :-)
Here's hoping,
Mary Ann
WOW, that is luscious - such happy healthy plants.
Bward that is absolutely beautiful, gives me inspiration..I see what my beds can look like in a little while.... :o)
Barb, very nice!!!! **STARING**
Ok, I live here in Florida and yours looks way better then mine. (I just started one this year too) Please list everything you have so I can go buy more!!!!
vredfish, thanks. I think I listed a lot of the thing in the bed in the first post. If there is a hole-I plant something. There are also gingers about and around the bed.
Barb, that looks great! Love those nanas.
