Windows version??

If I have to replace my PC, I was wondering if I have a choice as to the version of windows that I might get. Which version do you have & why do you like or dislike it? My Insurance agent said that I had to get a quote from DELL for the replacement of mine if it isn't repairable & don't know if they still have Windows 98. I kinda like that version over Windows ME, which is what my son has, that I'm using at the current time, at his house. I'm don't know what version of windows that they put on home computers now or if you even get a choice. I guess I could just have them send me the new cpu & install the Windows 98, etc. that I have from the other one (if it is fried), got a good surge from lightning Wed. evening.

Just thought I'd see what others perfer.
